New couch covers from Comfort Works – an honest review

I am very excited to show you my new couch covers from Comfort Works and my honest review!

When Comfort Works emailed me about new couch covers and a potential collaboration, I jumped all over it! Although I love my slipcover Ikea Ektorp sectional sofa, after so many years and 3 children later it was time for an upgrade.

My Ikea slipcover sofa was littered with stains and there was noticeable tears in certain spots.  And not to mention as the seasons change, so do styles – and I was ready for something lighter and brighter! (Especially now that I was out of the toddler stage with my kiddos).

***Edited! After owning for a year, come see how they’ve held up and how I wash them!

Gray Ikea sectional couch that is worn. Comfort Works is a company that makes slipcovers/couch covers for pre-sized sofas and custom made!

Comfort Works makes pre-sized; made to fit slipcovers for our favorite sofas like Ikea, Pottery Barn, and Muji. They also make custom slipcovers. Plus, there are so many beautiful fabric choices.

Honestly, that was the hardest part for me. There’s heavy-duty fabric in so many colors, pure linens, everyday tweed, claw-proof Velvet in the most vibrant color choices, mixed blends, linen blends, velvet blends, bycast & synthetic leathers, pure cottons, and English stripes.

At the end of the day, I went with pure linens. After getting the swatch in the mail I fell in love with the natural linen fabric. It was incredibly soft and I loved the natural texture of the soft beige/tan.

It was light and creamy… without being too light. And as a bonus, It was the exact color I wanted to incorporate into our family room to help tie in the color of my exposed beams. Plus, it felt very Scandinavian-farmhouse house which is totally a vibe that I dig!

The Customer service was amazing!

I was blow away by the customer service! The fabric samples came in such a timely manner (they even threw in some extra ones too). The ordering process was so easy and the customer service was spot on – answering any and all of my questions. My slipcovers even came earlier than when they said they would too!

Comfort Works couch covers couldn’t have been easier to put on

I was so amazed how easy it was to put on my Comfort Works couch covers. When my covers came in the mail, I immediately pulled everything out of the box. I was grateful each cover was labeled to make putting them on super easy making everything they fit like a dream! They also have a little bit of wiggle room which I was glad for. The linen is so super soft and luxurious!

After seeing it for the first time I knew I made the right choice. Like most linen material, it came wrinkled. I wasn’t worried though because after a few days of setting it all up most of the wrinkles had already fallen out.

Couch covers make such a transformation!

It is absolutely incredible what updating your couch covers will do to transform your space! Honestly, If you’re like me and love your sofa but want a whole new look – I’d give Comfort Works a go!

You’ll get a completely new sofa look, but with the old sofa comfort. And I would totally recommend Comfort Works. They are an awesome company to work with and their products are of the highest quality!

I seriously feel like I have a high-end sofa! I’m so happy With Comfort Works – and I’ll definitely be working with them again in the future! I have other Ikea chairs that could use new covers🤔. The only hard part is figuring out what fabric to choose 🤦🏻‍♀️

  1. Hello! Did you put the 100% linen cover over the dark colored sofa? Is it see through at all?

    Thanks,
    Kara

    1. Hi! No, I took the covers off first. And while my covers are linen and on the thick side, they might show a darker color if it wasn’t removed first.

  2. Hello,
I have been looking at ordering from this company and have wondered if they are legitimate. I ordered swatches almost 3 weeks ago and haven’t received them yet. I’m just making sure I’m not going to order a $300 slip cover only to not receive it. How long ago did you order yours? Did you happen to pay for express shipping.

    Thank you,
    Heidi

    1. Hey there, Heidi! This is Mira from Comfort Works – just checking in here to ask if you’ve received your samples. Please feel free to reach out to us at [email protected] and we’ll get back to you within 1 working day for anything you need help with 🙂

  3. Hi thanks for this post! Glad to know you had a good experience. Did you go with the original or signature modern style? Appreciate any insights!

  4. This review is about the service, not the fabric or product quality. We have an extensive correspondence with a CW agent and could never get a straight answer. At one point we received an email from someone who said she was an owner asking if there was a reason we hadn’t ordered. We explained in detail what we needed to know–simple things, actually–like a price estimate. Unfortunately, she replied by sending our email to the same person who had not answered our questions. After much shopping, we absolutely wanted to order but could not trust the process.

    1. You’re smart. I can’t recommend this company. I spent over $1400 for a slipcover for my Pottery Barn sectional. All of the cushion covers were made too small, smaller than the Pottery Barn originals. The frame covers are baggy and too loose. The fabric samples I ordered are nicer than the fabric the covers are made from. They don’t actually stand behind their product as they say. When I contacted their customer service, they’re very polite, but it became pretty clear very quickly that they have no intention of remaking the covers. They require you to wash all the covers (no quick task) and then take multiple pictures from various angles with covers on and off. I emailed over 50. After a time with no response, they’re now asking for dozens of measurements. That would be annoying but fine if they had agreed to make this right, but they haven’t. They just keep saying that the information that they’re asking for will help with their “investigation.” I suspect that if I complied with everything, it would take months to complete the “investigation” and in the end they would say that the covers were made to the right specifications, which they weren’t. The expensive slipcovers are useless to me. I’m taking the matter up with my credit card company.

      1. Hi Kate,

It appears I’m experiencing the same problem. I received my Slipcover and there are also several issues with it, and no one from the company has responded to several of my emails.

I’ll be contacting my credit card company as well. Kicking myself I trusted them to make the Slipcover for my Crate and Barrel sofa and I’m hoping I’m not out $960.00.

I hope you were able to resolve it with your credit card company.

  5. After reading the last comment I think I may have dodged a bullet. I’ve been trying to talk to someone at CW for a couple of weeks with no luck. I fully intended to purchase from them. Think I’ll look somewhere else.

  6. So helpful to review these comments. I had been receiving slightly slower responses from them in response to my questions, and now plan to look elsewhere as well. I have already requested the samples, though, so if they actually do come through in a timely manner, maybe I”ll reconsider.
